Ok. Fourth dimension to ask a stupid question. How in Gods green world practice you measure a PC example fan. Four heard diagonally, downwards the middle, spiral pigsty to screw pigsty, edge to edge. I want a definitive answer. How to you mensurate a PC case fan. PC that needs the fan in instance that helps: gateway dx4870-ub318

I get nearly 71-71.5 for an 80mm and near 82-82.5 for a 92mm fan.

Looks like you practice take the lxxx/92mm setup on that case.

Personally, I think 120mm means 120mm diameter fan.

Ok. Im having to measure out the fan by using the case. I measured from hole to hole and got 85mm and 70mm. ( i tin can mount 2 diffferent size fans) I cant measure out a fan due to the fact of not having one. I know a 120 is too big and a 80mm is to small. So is a 92mm what i need?

I get about 71-71.v for an 80mm and virtually 82-82.5 for a 92mm fan.

Looks like you do have the 80/92mm setup on that case.

I used a thread and online ruler http://iruler.net, considering had cypher that could be used for measuring

How do I measure fan size?

The size of fan you demand will generally be determined past the size of the fan fitting position in your PC instance. The sizes of all the fans on our website are shown as measured along any one of the fan'southward four sides, NOT the altitude between the fan's screw holes! Our most popular fan size is 120mm, followed by 80mm. This isn't really dictated past customer preference, but more by recent designs of PC cases.

Groovy info. This should be pinned for others to encounter and find amend. I merely bought a instance for a build I am doing and it had 3 different fan size slots. 140mm fans accept a 124-125mm hole spacing. That seems to be the closest.
